With less than a week left for Ramadan and the Eid just around the corner, we have been whiling away the daylight hours with our August run of the Summer Camps. However, we still manage to find the time to make new projects, including these three ideas for Eid cards.
Interactive Pull Cards
Though these cards require a little construction, they are still guaranteed to put a smile on the face of the recipient with a hidden greeting or simply the fact that a part of the card can be “animated” by pulling the tab.
These two pull cards were made with Prima Paisley Road collection papers, embossing powder, and microbeads.
Got a gorgeously detailed stamp that you want to add more to? Do a 3D take on it by layering parts of the image to make it look realistic. Craft a background scene to highlight your 3D image.
We chose to use a local theme for this card with our camel resting in the shade of an oasis. The camel image was made with our Pretty Camel Stamp from our exclusive Dubai Creative Stamp collection. It was colored using Tim Holtz Distress Markers: Scattered Straw, Tumbled Glass, Antique Linen, Shabby Shutters, and Barn Door. The wrong side of a Bobunny Double Dot paper provided the desert sky. Assorted papers and a little Tim Holtz Distress Ink were used to create the sand and palm leaves. The Arabic greeting is also from our exclusive range of stamps.
Say It Large and Clear: Focus on the greeting.
There are times when using the greeting itself as the main idea of your card is just as effective as using an image related to your occasion. The butterfly in the corner is just to balance the weight of the large letters.
This card uses letters cut with the Quick Cutz Grand Alphabet dies, Prima’s Melody collection paper, Spellbinder Grand Nestabilities, Distress Inks, Cuttlebug Texture folder, Core’dinations cardstock, and some white embossing powder. The butterfly was crafted from Tim Holtz Fanciful Flight die and a little emerald bling on wires.
Creative Hands are busy hands, and there’s no stopping our craftiness. 😀 Look forward to more projects and ideas in the days to come. Let’s not forget that we have a new shipment in that is just waiting to be picked up and used to create wonderful things. In the meantime, we hope that these three ideas inspire you to get creative for this coming Eid.
