TIERED CONFIGURATION TRINKET BOX

Not too long ago, we featured this finished project on our Instagram account. After finding some great inspiration, Annais decided to try and see if she could put together this trinket box with Tim Holtz Configuration Boxes, Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings 6 ½” x 6 ½” paper pad, assorted Tim Holtz dies, Distress Inks, and a few other embellishments.

The result of a number of hours’ work is this whimsical vintage box. It can store ephemera, scrapbooking embellishments, sewing notions, or trinkets and findings. The jointed hardware arms are not just for show; the “wings” of the box can actually be extended to reveal all the compartments of the base. The upper square compartments have hinged transparent covers that allow you to peek inside and see the decorative paper lining the bottom and the walls.

Decorating the box involved fussy cutting flowers and covering the chipboard shapes with paper. All papers used here are from the Sweet Nothings pad. All paper edges were colored using Vintage Photo Distress Ink.

If you would like to try your hand at making this box, we still have a few Configuration Boxes in the shop. The chipboard hardware pieces and the wooden knobs used as feet are also available for purchase.

Those of you who want to get instant photos and ideas on what’s happening in the shop can follow us on Instagram at creativehandsdubai.
