FRIDAY INSPIRATION

We have just had another busy few weeks at the shop and we want to share a few key moments to let you know what we have been up to. We also hope that this inspires you to be your craftiest over the weekend.

Last Tuesday Jo brought and old friend of Creative Hands, Ronita, to the shop for a morning of cropping and catching up. It was good to have Ronita back to crop and chat, even for just a few hours on her visit from SA.

While Ronita was easing back into scrapping after a long while, Jo was up to a lot of scrappiness of her own. Here’s her layout of a photo where her son Matt’s eyes were captured in a startling blue by a photographer. The orange of the layout really brings out the blues in the photo. As usual, Jo, you are awesome!

Louella is yet another Mixed Media Madness student who happily got into this incredibly fun scrapping technique. Here she used her fiancé’s picture and mixed in masculine embellishments with her Prima flowers such as Tim Holtz’s gears and hardware findings. Check out more info on this workshop here.

The local sisters Amna, Awatif, and Shamsa came to create a beautiful trio of decoupage projects. Roses and Inka Gold’s Old Gold, are the common theme in each object. Well done, ladies! It was so fun to have you!

Susan was here with Lizette one morning before they both fly off for the holidays. She repurposed this cigar box as a gorgeous gift for a relative. She made generous use of Graphic45’s Bird Song papers here.

Annais made this stunning decoupage place mat using some of our new serviettes and crackle finish. The result looks almost too good to eat on now! 🙂 Want to get into decoupage yourself? See here.

Rekha was here again this morning for another creative adventure, this time with Sospeso Transparente. She had a good time creating this very three-dimensional brooch out of tissue. Lovely, lovely, lovely! Call the shop for more information on this technique class.

Well, that’s all for now. We hope you have a great weekend and a great time being crafty and scrappy.

Cheers!
