Our Winter Camp seems to have breezed by, but we had lots of fun with returning and new young crafters who made this winter warmer. A week’s worth of crafting is a great way to spend winter days productively. It was definitely one way some of the kids completed their Holiday gift lists.
Renee and Dorothy kicked the Winter Camp off with Interactive Cards. These cards have a fun twist to them that is sure to delight whoever is getting them. It’s also very easy to make them again, once you know how.
A smaller, handier version of our Mini-Foldout Album and Keepsake Box – the Mini Foldy Album – turned out quite nicely for Dorothy and Renee. Both of them gave their albums away as gifts and customized them for the lucky people they were made for. 🙂
Renee and Dorothy were joined by Allia and Leila for the Creative Bookmarks. This project makes use of Tim Holtz’s Distress Inks and some basic Distressing Techniques. Though their hands were messy at the end, the girls all loved their bookmarks.
Our Monogram Decoupage workshop also turned out very satisfying for Bahira, Renee, and Dorothy. See what you can do with a little tissue and lots of imagination? Great job girls! Your monograms are ready to go over your beds or on your doors.
Ahan and Kazim came to join Dorothy and Renee for the Manga workshop. While the other three were new to it, Dorothy focused on creating her own characters. At the end of the workshop, Kazim, Ahan, and Renee completed their first manga figures with Copic markers. They also went home with the knowledge on how to draw manga figures on their own. 😉
Well done, everyone! It was a great way to end 2012 with these talented young people. We look forward to what’s in store for summer! In the meantime, you can always enroll in our After School Create-ivities for scrapbooking, paper crafting, or manga drawing with Copics.
Happy New Year!
