In our creative journey, it’s often nice to be able to take a retreat somewhere and dedicate it to learning new techniques and expanding your crafter’s skills. Reena is one such lady who came to Dubai for just that. We were one of her stops and her host for several days as she set herself to a whole week’s worth of crafting. You’ve seen her Mixed Media work, but here are the other things she came to do with us. image Reen went through the long list of techniques we have in our Distressing 101. She had a great time learning about some of our favorite crafting mediums here. image The Hero Hues Cardmaking is a session that our instructor Jean is always calling a “cardmaking boot camp.” As a seasoned cardmaker, Reena was refreshed with touching on the dozen or so techniques this class uses. For beginner cardmakers, this is the ideal class. image Dimensional Cards with Distress Markers is one class that will get you thoroughly acquainted with these particular coloring tools. Here, Reena has recreated our beautiful Dubai themed cards very, very nicely. image Reena’s efforts in the Cardmaking with Copics session for her and her mother Bimba resulted in these ever-so-cute set of cards. Great job, ladies! image Reena’s mother, Bimba, sat with us for a session with Interactive Cards. This workshop shows you how to create cards with a lot of fun surprises. Lovely! image The Memory Trunk and Gatefold Album from our Create It Yourself Kits were a team effort as Reena took care of the trunk and Bimba did the album. What a lovely and colorful match! image Above ad below, we see Reena at work on her Mixed Media Scrapboard and Mixed Media Madness on Canvas. image Bimba also got busy, but with our Manga Drawing with Copics! Some time ago we featured Mr. Omish, who showed us that learning has no age. Now Mdm. Bimba proves this statement to be truer than ever as she took her session to help her gain new skills that she can apply to her own love of culinary arts. Her new coloring and drawing skills will help her create adorable characters to grace her cakes. Bimba did great work with this session! image Speaking of Manga, Nupur’s sister Payal also tried her hand in a class. Here she is with her lovely angel haracter below. Awesome job! image Whew! All that crafting has made us eager for even more! Look forward to more adventures in scrapping and paper crafting, scrappers and crafters.
