We are expanding our line of rubber stamps with these adorable new sheep designs perfect for your Eid greeting cards and eidiya envelopes.

Swirly Sheep

This card uses layered paper  and die-cut daisies over a painted sky to create a pasture for this little sheep. Glossy accents on the eyes gives this sheep a bright-eyed look. The sheep was colored with Copic markers and put together in four layers for a 3D effect.

Lazy Lamb

The paper for the eidiya envelope was created with acrytlic paints, a Gelli Printing plate, and Foampressions foam stamps. Punched grass, flowers, and a little bling complete this envelope with the cheeky lamb. This sheep was colored using Stamp Markers as watercolors.

KOKESHI N’ Friends

The Kokeshi and Friends paper dolls were a lot of fun for young and old alike. Colorful layered papers and a little glue are all it takes to create these charming dolls. The classic Japanese kokeshi and the little Arabic version are both so cute!

The marbling was also a great with people of all ages. Everyone who tried it was dotting and swirling wonderful patterns of color.

We had loads of fun last ARTE and it’s just going to go on and on this Friday, October 9th at Times Square! The market will be open from 12pm up to 7pm.

Have a look at what we have been up to for this Friday. We are just itching to do these with you all at ARTE!

Use the Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate to dress up a word! It is so fun and easy. Come down this Friday and take home a colorful word you Gelli plated yourself!

We hope to see you and join in more crafty fun at ARTE this Friday.

With middle of term breaks and long weekends comes time to do crafty things with your child. Two mom and daughter duos have been by lately to spend some creative time together. Whether its fun with Gelli Printing or scrapping there are few activities as satisfying as creating together.

Here are what they have been up to:

Amanda was able to create this layout using elements from one of our Croppy Cats Scraplifting Kits.

Amanda was able to create this layout using elements from one of our Croppy Cats Scraplifting Kits.

Amanda had been wanting to get back into scrapbooking after she had to stop for about a year. She came by to refresh her scrapping skills and the layout above was the result. Now, we call that a triumphant return!

Amanda’s daughter, Emily, came with her mother to do some scrapping of her own on a scrapboard. She did a very, very fine job. Great work, Emily!

Above is another layout by Amanda. This time it’s a Say It with Prima layout. Just stunning!

Reem and Leila are no strangers to the shop, but it has been decided that, once a month is going to be a special bonding day for them. One their very first crafty bonding day, they had played with Gelli Arts Gel Printing plates to create their own quote wall art. (See above)

On their second crafty bonding day, it was decoupage clocks for Leila and Reem. They turned out superbly, as you can see in the picture above.

Mother-daughter days are twice as fun and rewarding, especially when you get to take home something extra special as a memento of a creative and crafty time together.

Remember, all materials and supplies here, including Croppy Cats Scraplifting kits and Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plates are available in the shop. Be sure to get yours before stocks run out!

Hope this gives you inspiration on what to do next together with your daughters. Keep on creating everyone!

Christmas day has come and gone and, after a Christmas day off, we have just concluded our Creative Winter Break sessions. It was all fun and crafting from day one with paint, paper, and glue everywhere. Here are a few snapshots from these awesome four days.

The Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate was the tool of choice for the first two days. The girls really enjoyed working with colors to create one-of-a-kind projects that no one else could have.

Two of the girls, Sophie (left) and Mimi (right), show off their Kokeshi Wall Art pieces.

Olivia, Sophie, and Becky (shown from left to right) just love their very own Flower Girl Clocks.

The Sophie, Becky, and Olivia show us their Quilled Surprises Explosion Box filled with photos and quilled embellishments.

Here are the girls’ 2014 calendars, created with the Gelli Plate and embellished with love and excitement. Great job girls!

Though this round of Creative Winter Break sessions is over, you can still sign up for the whole course or for individual projects before school resumes in January. See more details about our Creative Winter Break here. Contact our shop to register.

Hope you like what the girls did this time around. Here’s to keeping up the craft and looking forward to a new year of crafting ahead! Cheers!

As we feel the last of summer fading away with windy weather and a few sandstorms we want to look back over an action-packed two months. There was not a single day when the workshop area was quiet with the summer sessions going on. We had a really great run and met quite a number of talented young crafters. Here’s the last of the summer’s kids and what they did this summer.image

Some of the girls were with us for more than two weeks and some were there for just a day. There wasn’t a single one of them we didn’t have fun with.

Ooh la la! Here’s Sophie, our Summer’s Super Crafter who was with us for a whole month of crafting, four days a week! Here she is working on her decoupage box.

The girls just love their Chalkboard Door Plaques! They did amazing work on them.

Sophie (left) smiles sweetly as she shows everyone her finished box. Mariam (right) just loved her Gelli Art Canvas.

Hala (right), a young visitor from Saudi Arabia, came with her aunt for a day of crafting. She felt very proud of her work when she finished her Gelli Art Canvas. Nairne (left) looks serene as she hold up her canvas. Crafting mastery reached? Could very well be. 😉

Nadine (left), and Shamza (right) hold up their funky Gelli Art Gift bags. Shamza came all the way from Sharjah, tagging along with her older sister to take a session of Gelli Arts Printing.

Karina learned scrapbooking over the summer and loved it so much that she was sad to have her last day. We miss her now that she’s back in the UK for school.

Miryam and Sarah did another sisters’ session with us and made their own Decoupage Monogram wall art. Messy, colorful, and fun!

The school year has kicked in and we are still not used to the reduced noisy craftiness in the shop. Just the noise though; the craftiness is still very much here and some of the girls will be back for After-School Creative-ities. If you’re interested, you might want to visit the shop and see what we have to offer for after-school activities.

It was an awesome summer and we hope to see these little crafters again and get to know other new young crafters in the camps to come.

Keep on creating!

As scrappers, we are finding the Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plate to be an extremely useful addition to our tools and materials. The variations on the patterned papers you can create for your layout are virtually endless. Our summer campers got to try making their prints into a scrapbook layout and their finished pages turned out very, very well.

Kyla (left) uses lots of pinks to create a 100%-girl layout, just like her. Ceira (right) has chosen very earthy colors for her prints, making for a very interesting and organic look.
Amy’s layout (left) uses bright pops of warm color over cool colors to bring the eye to her photo. Iona’s rocker chick layout (right) is very much Iona.
Orange and purple make Reet’s layout pure fun.
Sophie’s beaming smile tells us just how pleased she is with her layout.
Sarah’s layouts uses lots of pastel colors to great effect.
The colors of Bahira’s outfit in her picture match the colors of her prints quite well.
Nairne’s playful layout is a great backdrop for the adorable picture of her and her brother.
Nadine’s Gel Print papers  go perfectly with the colors in her picture.
Mabel’s layout is blue and green with a fun splash of orange. Great choice of colors! She made the layout to give to her sister as a birthday present.
The playful colors of Jude’s layout are positioned just right. Beautiful!

The girls had lots of fun not just arranging their layouts, but making the papers with the Gelli Plates. As anyone can see, the variety of prints you can create with the Gelli Art Gel Printing Plate is just amazing.

It’s mid-August and we are now in the last few days of summer break. This week we have another round of Summer Camp Week 2 sessions coming up and we are thrilled to find out how the girls’ projects are going to turn out! Those still interested can still join in so call us at the shop now for more information.

Cheers and keep on creating!

Apart from Gelli Art Canvas being a camper favorite, the summer campers were most thrilled to create their own Chalkboard Door Plaques. Aside from being fun to make, the campers can write whatever they want on their plaques, making it an interactive and reusable project.

AHowever you hang them, these plaques are cool!

Amber’s plaque is just so fun! Big sister Caoimhe’s plaque is also awesome and if you look closely, you’d be able to tell that they are indeed related.

All the girls did their own take on the door plaque and have no doubt stuck them onto their doors already. This is one project that is definitely for keeps. It also shows how versatile the Gelli Arts Gel Plates are since almost every single colored part of the project, including the flowers, was colored using the Gelli plates. Only the chalkboard and the paper doll were colored with other materials.

There is still more to come from our campers in the next few days, so look forward to it!

This year’s Summer Camp with Gelli Arts’s gel printing plate has not stopped at all since we started. Among the many projects the kids make, it seems that the Gelli Art Canvas from the Week 2 projects is a huge favorite among the campers. Here’s a look at the canvases the girls have created.

On the left, Madison proudly shows off her pretty artwork. Amber, on the right, sister to Freya and Caoimhe, makes her statement about art loud and clear with glitter glue letters and boldy colored flowers.

Freya’s bold tropical flowers go very well with her yellow and pink printed background. Caoimhe’s canvas is a colorful garden of hydrangeas and pink blossoms.

Veronica, on the right, used dark and light blues to create a wintry garden. Lavanya, on the right created a cherry blossom garden over her Gelli printed canvas.

Sarah’s canvas is a playful scattering of poppies and peonies on a magenta and purple printed background. Ceira’s canvas uses a mixed assortment of garden blossoms over her chevron and floral printed background.

Sisters Iona and Kyla have very different tastes as can be seen on their canvases. Iona uses a background print in a cool color and pinkish flowers to stand out. Kyla uses strong red and yellows in hers as well as boldy colored wildflowers.

Sophie created a blue and purple background and tropical flowers to contrast. Bahira used magenta and purple for her background and cherry blossoms to build up her flower garden.

Each of the girls created something that truly reflects each and every one of their personalities and we had so much fun helping them do it. Amazing job, you all!

Summer’s not over yet and even now kids are still signing up for the Gelli Arts Gel Printing Summer Camp. There’s still time to get to so these exciting projects with Gelli Arts’s Gel Printing Plate! Look forward to more great work from our summer campers.

Before the summer got too hot and Ramadan set in, we had quite a few sessions for our different mixed media on canvas projects. Here are some of the finished works that are sure to make their owners’ walls quite attractive.

Siblings from Abu Dhabi – Sara, Noora, Hind, and Mohammad – came to each make a canvas. Here are their finished works.

All the siblings except for Sara used Gelli Arts Gel Printing Plates to create the backgrounds for their projects. The plates make that part almost too easy.

Hind’s Gelli plate printed Quote Art Canvas gets beautiful doses of color with her choice of flowers.

Noora’s Quote Art Canvas is a tropical getaway.

Not tobe left out, younger brother Mohammad joined in the fun by creating his own pirate-themed Quote Art Canvas.

Big sister Sarah did her version of the Manga on Canvas Mixed Media project.

With her next session, Sara created this amazing travel themed canvas.

Also from Abu Dhabi, Hana’a, created this Quote Art Canvas using dreamy colors.

Mixed media proves popular yet again! How can you not love how flexible these techniques are? You can hardly go wrong.
If you are interested in coming and doing a Quote Art Canvas session with us, call the shop for more information. We have various mixed media classes so we strongly suggest visiting the shop to check out what we have.

With the first two weeks of summer camp over, we want to share how awesome our first batch of campers were. They had a lot of fun learning how to use their Gelli Plates and turning them into beautiful papercrafting.

Here the girls are in a Gelli printing frenzy. It’s hard not to be messy with the Gelli plate, but the messier, the more fun!

After the first day of printing, Caoimhe and the other girls created their own scrapbook layouts using the papers they created with their own hands and creativity.

Veronica’s Gelli plate layout is a blue dream.

Amber’s layout uses a very unique combination of colors that she put together herself. Nice!

Freya’s layout uses refreshing colors. So adorable!

Dorothy’s page reflects the young lady that she has turned into since last summer when she was also with us. Good job, JD!

Nour’s colors are just as bubbly as her personality. Awesome job, Nour!

Right now, the second batch of summer campers (above) is currently crafting away. In the foreground, Jolene was doing a little Gelli Plate workshop of her own.

Look forward to seeing what these crafty kids can do!

We have not stopped seeing how amazing mixed media is and how strong its appeal is for so many people who have become attracted to it in their adventures as crafters. Two of our latest mixed media sessions were with very talented crafters from India. We were very happy to have them over as they created these gorgeous pieces on canvas in two different mixed media projects.

Here, Nupur poses  with her instructor, Ms. Annais and her completed Gelli Art Canvas. She was with us last year and did another Mixed Media work before, but this time we introduced her to Gelli Art printing and other techniques. We think the theme of this piece reflects Nupur as a crafter. It’s an amazing canvas that brings to mind a garden bursting with life.

Reena also worked on her own Mixed Media Madness on Canvas creation with a picture of her and her husband. Layers upon layers of paper, flowers and other materials make this piece a beautiful way to preserve a dear memory.

Reena was also able to do a Mixed Media Scrapboard with pictures of her family. Great job on this one!

Reena and Nupur created such wonderful and inspiring projects. If you want to learn these two NEW Mixed Media offerings call or visit us for more details.

Keep being crafty and creative!

Gelli Art Printing Basics

Hi everyone!  Here’s a short video on the basics using the Gelli Arts Gel Plate. This is also how we created the wonderful orange and blue background for our Arabic themed card. All you need are the following:

  •         Gelli Arts Gel Plate – We are using the 6×6″ plate to create the card background.
  •         4 inch brayer – This brayer size is just enough for the 6×6″ plate.
  •         Your choice of acrylic paint – Get just enough paint of the plate to cover the surface but not drip over the sides. Practice a couple of times to get this right.
  •         A stencil – Lay the stencil of your choice on top of the paint.
  •        Thick paper – lay a piece of paper over the stencil and smooth over the gel plate with your fingers or with the brayer. The paper we are using here is drawing paper that has been cut to size.
  •         Distress Inks – Pull the paper off the plate and the set the plate aside. The paint dries almost right away and you can Distress over the paper with two or more colors of Distress Ink.
  •         Wet Wipes – Swipe the wipe over the paper quickly to remove excess ink and bring the acrylic out.
  •         Distress Stains – To add more depth to the card background, rub Distress Stain over the center of the design and swipe with a wet wipe to get the excess off again.

The card background is done!

Gelli Arts Gel Plates are available in three sizes and we are offering them with a special promotion:
